Adding an Overlay to your flush zipper pockets gives a lovely finish to your Tremont — and it’s easier than it looks!
Sue of Dreamscape Studio added Zipper Overlays to her gorgeous Tremont Crossbody Bag when she tested this sewing pattern for me. I love how Sue’s overlay looks and thought I’d create a tutorial video with free templates in case others would like to give this option a try.
PATTERN: To create the bag, you will need to purchase the Tremont Crossbody Bag Sewing pattern HERE.

Choose from three template shapes to make a zipper overlay for your Tremont exterior, lining, or both!
Cork, Vinyl or Leather are all suitable materials for your Zipper Overlay.
You will need the following:
- Tremont Crossbody Bag Sewing Pattern and all supplies listed
- Overlay Template(s) of your choice
- 2 1/2″ x 9″ cork/vinyl/leather per Overlay
- Rotary Cutter, Cutting Mat, Ruler
- Sharp Scissors
- Pen and/or chalk
- Double-Sided Tape or Fabric Glue
- X-Acto Knife (optional)
