I received an email from my son’s middle school yesterday. According to his principal, 30 days of summer vacation remain. Alongside this certainty simmers the unpredictability we’ve almost grown accustomed to. We cannot know for certain what the 2021-2022 school year will look like.
In so much ongoing ambiguity, I thought launching the school year with fun, personalized pencil pouches (however school may look) could brighten students’ days. For this reason, I decided to offer my Roxbury Pouch Pattern free of charge.
The Roxbury Pouch comes in three sizes and can be made in two ways:
(Version 1 – With Elastic) This easy zippered pouch secures to any sized journal, planner, or notebook with an elastic band.
(Version 2 – Without Elastic) The Roxbury Pouch corrals loose items of all kinds. Make all three sizes for a darling trio of pouches.
A great scrap buster, this pattern requires minimal materials and time to create, making the Roxbury Pouch a simple and enjoyable project for new and experienced sewists alike. Not just for students, this versatile pouch pattern has endless uses and makes a wonderful gift for virtually anyone.
It is both therapeutic to create as well as heartwarming to give a gift personalized for the recipient. I hope you will enjoy making and giving this free pattern!
